Today’s Scripture: September 12
“Here is the man called the Branch… he will receive royal honor and will rule as king from his throne. He will also serve as priest from his throne, and there will be perfect harmony between his two roles” (Zechariah 6:12-13).

 

 
Today, sixteen years have passed since the people first began re-inhabiting the land of Israel. During that time people have been busy rebuilding their own homes to the neglect of the Temple. Two priests received a word from God encouraging them to rebuild the Temple. Yet, there were many opposing the work, with a lack of a sense of urgency and apathy towards doing so.

 
Opposition is a surety in the Christian walk. When inertia or apathy sets in regarding work of the Lord, we are sometimes required to apply more discipline. Do you apply more discipline in the areas of your life where it is needed?
