Today’s Scripture
“The people refused to enter the pleasant land, for they wouldn’t believe his promise to care for them” (Psalm 106:24).
Today’s reading has on a sojourn back to the days of the Israelites while in Egypt! Re-read the tale of the Exodus, the plagues, life in the wilderness and see what added details you find!
The Bible tells us Joseph and Moses were both pre-ordained to do the work God had for them to do. The hardship Joseph endured served a purpose – to test his character (Ps 105:19). And after over a decade, he rose to power over all of Pharaoh’s household. Hundreds of years later, while the people lived in the promised land God gave them, the people forgot God’s acts of kindness and rebelled against him. Unable to wait on God, they tested his patience and bowed before other images. Even so, he pitied them in their distress and listened to their cries (Ps 106:44).
