Today’s Scripture: September 2
“Seraiah was the father of Jehozadak, who went into exile when the Lord sent the people into captivity” (1 Chronicles 6:14-15).

 

 
Today we read about the genealogy form the time of Jacob’s sons to the exile and give special attention to the section entitled Aaron’s descendants, which were the line of the High Priests.

 
In every case, we don’t know for sure why the Holy Spirit chose to mention some persons specifically in genealogies and other persons in similar genealogies in other places. But one thing we know for sure is that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and every person, mention, story and place has a purpose for being included. As you read, do you remember that this book is inspired and every word thoughtfully chosen by God?
