Today’s Scripture
“The angel of the Lord said to the Israelites, “I brought you out of Egypt into this land… but you disobeyed my command. Why did you do this?” (Judges 2:1-2).

 

 
Israel’s disobedience to Yahweh and her worship of other gods resulted in her failure to experience blessing. Though the land was given by God and divided under Joshua, it was still necessary for each tribe to fight to displace the Canaanites living there.

 
So it is in our lives. Even though Jesus has defeated death and made a way for us to inherit eternal life, it is still necessary for each one of us to remove the idols we worship, aggressively, if necessary.
