Today’s Scripture: September 8
“A period of seventy sets of seven has been decreed for your people and your holy city to finish their rebellion, to put an end to their sin, to atone for the guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision and to anoint the Most Holy Place” (Daniel 9:24).

 

 
Today we read about three important events: Daniel in the lion’s den, the prophecy of seventy “sevens,” and the edict to return home to Jerusalem!

 
There is a seven year period – a future time to come – which will complete the 490 years spoken of in Daniel, referred to as the tribulation, which at its end, will usher in a time of righteousness and fulfillment of the covenant promises God made to Abraham.
