Today’s Scripture
“It sill be a sign and witness that the Lord is worshiped in the land of Egypt” (Isaiah 19:20).
Today’s reading concerns an amazing prophecy about the land of Egypt. In the last days, five Egyptian cities will convert, speak God’s language of Hebrew, erect a monument and altar and make sacrifices to Him. These cities will be allies – and worship with – Israel.
In today’s reading, we see Jerusalem storing up water, fortifying walls as a defense, yet failing to call on God for help. God is inviting them to repent and mourn, which requires an inward – and outward – change. Jerusalem wouldn’t change their lifestyle, wouldn’t put their luxuries and lavishness away for a time and so God declared they would not be forgiven for this sin. Do you repent in spirit and in truth, with an attitude of mourning?
