Today’s Scripture September 16
“The gracious hand of his God was on him. This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the law of the Lord and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel” (Ezra 7:9-10).

 

 
We pickup where we left off in the book of Ezra today. The building projects we read about concern the wall of Jerusalem. Ezra travels to Jerusalem over four months on a mission of the king.

 
How do you handle promotions to power and the praise of men? Do you respond as Haman did, full of pride and self-conceit, or do you respond as Ezra did, feeling encouraged because it demonstrated God’s hand upon his life?
