Today’s Scripture
“Surely no one would turn against the needy when they cry for help in their trouble” (Job 30:24).
Formerly, people honored Job because of his position, wealth, and status in the community. Then, people turned against him during his time of greatest need. Our identity should not come from a job, a position, or human approval. Our true identity must rest in our relationship with God as His people.
Job stated in his defense that he had not lied, lusted, neglected the needy, or tried to conceal sin in his heart. How pure are you before the Lord? Do you take your role as Jesus’ “hands and feet” seriously, addressing the needs around you? How often do you confess sin and bring it out before the Lord? Confess your sins before the Lord this day, and He will purify you, creating in you a clean heart (Ps 51:10), and He will remember your sins no more (Hebrews 8:12).
