Today’s Scripture
“What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem” (Psalm 84:5).
Did you catch the often over-looked passage in Psalm 49 that refutes without a doubt the possibility of our paying our way to salvation (Psalm 49:8)? Redemption cannot be bought for no one can ever pay enough. Yet, the price of our salvation has been purchased by the blood of Christ, the only sure payment – made willingly by a man, fully human and fully God, the son of God.
One day the Lord’s people will flock to see him physically in Jerusalem, after his Second Coming when he takes up his throne as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and establishes his millennial reign here on this earth. What a glorious day that will be! Just imagine… heading to Jerusalem, growing stronger on the journey, and once arrived, you ask to appear before Jesus Himself! You are presented to Him, and you pray for your King, a unique prayer for Jesus found only here in Scripture (Psalm 84:9).
