Today’s Scripture
“The sons of Hur, the oldest son of Caleb’s wife Ephrathah, were Shobal, Salma (the founder of Bethlehem) and Hareph” (1 Chronicles 2:50-51).

 
Greetings! In today’s video, I mention Salma is the son of Caleb (male) and Ephrathah (female), when actually he appears to be the grandson of Caleb (son of Hur). Also, Salma appears to be the father of Boaz (Ruth’s Boaz)!

 

 
Genealogies can seem boring to read, but they are very important to Israel for three reasons, which we discuss in today’s video. This genealogical list is a “living link” to the promises of the past.

 
Genealogies in the Bible are important to Christians and should not be overlooked. We must know, we must be sure that Jesus comes from the line He says He does if He is indeed the promised Messiah. Genealogies prove that He’s the One!
