Scripture Highlight: November 11
“The believers who had been scattered during the persecution after Stephen’s death traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch” (Acts 11:19).

 

 

Today we see a crucial paradigm shift in the thinking of Jewish believers. They come to understand “God shows no favoritism” (Acts 10:34), which means God gives Gentiles equal opportunity for eternal life. Peter’s vision and encounter with Cornelius had much to do with this understanding. The believers begin to preach the gospel to Gentiles and many of them come to saving faith.
