Today’s Scripture
“At that time people first began to worship the Lord by name” (Genesis 4:26).
From the beginnings of Genesis, we read about the introduction of sin into the world and the human heart. The Lord told Cain, Adam’s son, that he would be accepted if he did was was right and to do that he needed to subdue sin and rule over it (rather than the other way around). Yet, he chose differently and murdered his brother. Another son was born to his parents, who also had children of his own. It was from his line that people originally began to worship the Lord by name.
During your lifetime, will it be said that you worshipped the Lord (and knew Him with such familiarity that you call on Him) by name?
