Today’s Scripture
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer” (Psalm 19.14).
Today we begin the book of Psalms, which is a book of praise and poetry. Psalms 12-15 help us understand victories we can have in our life today: overcoming lies, the frustration of waiting, sin, and separateness apart from God.
Psalm 16 is a precious Psalm because it is considered a Miktam. It should be read as if Jesus is the speaker. As you are reading, it may make more sense to consider the LORD (all caps) as referring to God the Father, verses Jesus the Son. Psalm 20 can also be read as if you, yourself, are speaking directly to Jesus before He dies on the cross. I explain further in the video.
